Veterinarians

Dr. Mark Cox is a New Mexico native who graduated from the  Colorado State University school of Veterinary Medicine in 1972. He built the El Abrigado Animal Clinic in 1989 and has been engaged in a private practice since.  “This noble profession has stimulated and motivated me for the last 39 years.  What greater compliment could I offer about this career?”

Staff

Benjamin Blandin is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved to El Paso in 2003.  He graduated from New Mexico State University in 2007 with a Bachelors of Agriculture, majoring in Animals Science and minoring in Biochemistry.  He works as a Veterinary Assistant at El Abrigado when available.  Ben is a second year Veterinary student at Ross University School of
Veterinary Medicine with a planned graduation in 2012.

Veronica Orozco is a native of El Paso.  She has an Associates of Arts Degree from the El Paso Community College and is working on her degree in nursing.  Her work as a receptionist at the El Abrigado Animal Clinic is fun and interesting.  Veronica is “learning a lot” in this position.

Dara Pearce has been a veterinary technician in AZ and TX for over four years. She is currently attending Penn Foster University to obtain her vet tech certification. In her spare time she enjoys traveling to rodeos, barrel racing at a professional level. With her tech experience and skills she has learned in the veterinary profession, she is able to maintain her own dog breeding business, raising miniature Australian shepherds.

Tracy Harris has been a Veterinary technician for over 5 years with experience not only in El Paso but also in California.  Working at El Abrigado Animal Clinic has been a good learning experience for her. She enjoys helping the Dermatology and Ophthalmology specialists that come here.  She will continue working as a tech while pursuing her degree in Biology.

Tresa Cantu has worked as a Veterinary Assistant for 4 years.  She has had the opportunity to work in several clinics in several cities.  Tresa finds this to be a very fulfilling and rewarding profession.  She enjoys working with animals, helping them to recover from illness, or better yet maintaining their good health.
